Every month SHOUT exhibits the work of a local artist. This month we are proud to showcase the work of our own photographer Gary James.
A creative vision of everything fresh and cutting-edge has made photographer Gary James one of Miami’s most sought after lifestyle, fashion and commercial photographers. His vibrant images have been featured in national publications such as Maxim and 944 and he also contributes to Ocean Drive Magazine and Haute Living, among others. Most recently, Gary was recognized by Success South Florida Magazine as one of South Florida’s 40 under 40 Leaders of Today & Tomorrow for 2010, proving his solid reputation, professionalism and a charismatic approach behind the lens.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Gary’s artistic talent was evident when he became intrigued by photography at a young age. He discovered that through this medium he was able to give life to his creative ideas and make masterpieces in an instant. In pursuit of his passion, Gary completed his studies in the Multimedia Design Program at Fullsail Realworld Education in Orlando, Florida, where he graduated in the top of his class as Valedictorian. After graduating, Gary made the transition to Miami where he has had a successful photography career for over seven years.
With celebrity names such as Alonzo Mourning, Thalia, Tommy Mottola, Brooke Hogan, Cool & Dre, Adrienne Arsht and major brands that include Land Rover, Agent Provocateur and Helly Hansen in his portfolio, Gary has placed his work among the top in the industry. With a focus on luxury and lifestyle, his sophisticated approach always comes through in his fashion stories, product portraits, architectural interiors and gourmet food images. Gary’s great personality and dynamic talent keep him on top of the competition and undeniably make him one of the best in the business.
